you should understand

I was getting late for office, although no urgent even assigned work was there for me. But getting late to office, I and my colleagues think as unethical, so it was persistently bothering me.
I was standing in a long queqe for passport application and at the same time filling some details. When I finished and turned my eyes on next person, I saw he has been replaced by a man and a lady. I felt it's wrong and so opposed and said "Hello I am standing before you ...... ladies didn't waited to finish my sentence and said rudely but calmly "You can't understand we have twins" how can be you so inhuman .....
I got stunned by the affliction of caring two baby and also by an unattractive complexion. Now instead of four eyes I saw eight eyes were staring at me four of husband-wife and four of twins. I only mummbled "I don't know"(what to do ?).
